Background

Pennine Data started in 1992 when Nick Hill graduated from Bradford University (Information Systems Science). Nick used to work in engineering and found himself being progressively more involved in developing software to solve engineering and business problems. Before graduating, several companies approached Nick to develop computer solutions - hence the birth of Pennine Data.

During 1996, Pennine Data was moving into providing a wider range of business solutions and a partnership was formed between Nick and Rory Argyle. This brought together technical, business and internet related skills into one consultancy.

Our skills cover many facets of information technology. These include, but are not limited to, PC's, networks, web-sites, internet & intranet applications, databases, data acquisition & control, print management, data communications (including ATM), real time, DOS, Windows and UNIX programming.

Network expertise includes Novell Netware on large networks of up to 100 users spread over several sites together with remote access.

Nick is an Incorporated Engineer (AMICE) with the Institute of Civil Engineering. We are fully conversant with quality management issues involving the use of ISO900x/BS5750 and NAMAS within an organisation.

Our Webmaster is a member of the Association of Internet Professionals (AIP) and the HTML Writers Guild. Our expertise has covered an internet service provider (ISP) with around 10,000 user accounts, and a corporate web server holding several thousand pages.
